The Importance of Staying Active

Hello, beautiful person reading this right now! Yes, you! While we are in a time of mess, I wanted to talk a bit about why it is important to try and keep or have an active part in your life. During the spring of last year in 2019 in one of my classes. We talked about the importance of staying active. What it can help prevent and things of that nature.

In this Human Development Over the Lifespan course that I took. We learned that if you can find at least one way to be active whether it be walking, running, hiking, biking, working out in the gym. Any type of way to lead an active lifestyle can help prevent you from possibly dealing with different diseases and bad health in the long term. Of course, I am sure you have all heard that staying active can also help with managing stress, depression, and anxiety in some, and maybe, not all cases. I must say that it certainly can help with stress and anxiety management. For me, it has at least. It can help with weight management too in various ways. I think that it is really important for us to get up and move if we are fortunate enough to have that ability. I don't think constantly sitting and being a couch potato helps much, if you have the ability to get up and move your body I would say do it! It does not have to be anything intense. Just do something at your own speed that can get you up and moving. Even if it is just for 30 or so minutes. That is enough time to be moving for. Of course, you can do it longer too if it is doable for you. But, I think especially right now it is important to do so.

If you start now, not only will you simply just be starting to incorporate being active into your lifestyle. But in a time where everyone is concerned about theirs and others' health, it could be a good time to start moving. If you are stressed, anxious, and worried about COVID-19 this could also even possibly help relieve some of that stress and tension you may be holding, and it could even possibly give you a good mood boost from just being outside if you walk outside and moving in general. We need to be there for ourselves and our bodies and one way to do that is by exercising and finding a way to keep our bodies active and moving! If you can help your health now and in the long run by finding a way to be active if you can do so, then why not? Let's better ourselves and be active when and where we can! You've got this! If you just find a place to start then that is the best first step to doing something that can really help you out in the long run!

I have been doing as many walks as I know my body can handle and it has felt great to be able to do them. I do have a limit though, so I am sure I don't overdo it too much for my body. I hope you enjoyed this post. Let us all try to be more active when and where we can and better ourselves! I love all of you very much! I will see you again in my next post!

Best regards,
