Why did I make my blog?

Happy new year everyone! 2020 is finally here and I cannot wait to see what it has in store! I, and some of my family, unfortunately, have started this year getting over having the flu. I would never wish the flu on anyone now having had it for the first time. I am writing this on the 1st of this year. Ahead of when you are reading this. It has been snowing and also wintery mix today, but I have enjoyed watching it out of my bedroom window. Aside from this little ramble, I thought it would be a good idea to talk about why I made this Blog again to start the year off, and so if any of you reading this are new or don't know why I made my blog you could know! So, without further or do, let's jump right in! Also, as I am writing this on the 1st of January, happy 1st anniversary to the blog!

I had an idea to make a blog or something like one a few years ago. But at the time that I first had the idea, it did not feel like the right time. Plus, I think to some degree there was a little anxiety at the thought of it too. So, instead, I did not act on that idea and decided it was not the right time. During the summer of 2018, that same idea came to mind again and this time I decided I wanted to act on it. I began brainstorming possible names and got help from my mom on how to create my blog site, plus where it would be best to create one. Finally, towards the end of the summer and in the fall of 2018 I was happy with where my site was. Fast forward to January 1st, 2019, I released my blog to the public, and this journey began! But, why did it all start?

My desire to make a blog essentially stemmed from the joy I was getting from posting my Monday inspirational posts. I started doing Monday motivation posts in high school and just kind of fell in love with doing them. Eventually, I began to have the desire to want to do something bigger that could showcase me in a different way and hopefully have a positive effect on others at the same time. I knew that I had topics I would want to talk about, but that I felt I could not discuss on Instagram. I did not feel that the topics I wanted to write about would go well on Instagram since people do not go there for posts at this length. My intentions with my blog are to talk about topics I think are important, fun, creative, and at times different. I am so happy that I have this now, and can express myself, my thoughts, and my opinions in a way that I do these things well. I also created it because i wanted to be a good example and make a positive impact on the world!

Fun fact, I did not find out I expressed myself really well through writing until my senior year of high school. I have briefly talked about my senior year of high school in a blog post last year, but it was a very difficult year for me. I had a class that I did not have any coursework in, and so I would have the teacher in that class give me topics to write about so I could have something to do and so I had something to give my mind to focus on that wasn't bad or negative. After that, and possibly even before that, writing slowly became a regular thing for me. It became a therapy in a sense for me. An escape from what was happening all around me. So, that did not contribute to why I made my blog, but it contributed to my love of writing! I have a lot of things planned for the blog this year, and for video content as well! I cannot wait to get into this year! Much love to all of you and see you again soon in my next post!

Best regards,

The Inspiring Hummingbird!
