Hello lovely!
I am sitting writing this after nature went and bit me with a good piece of truth and a good reminder. Now, it is something I think about all too often these days. Especially, considering what I deal with due to my feet issues, and due to what I could face in the future with them. However, I want to talk about this little reminder, because all of us can benefit from this reminder every now and then. Today, we are going to talk about appreciating the small things!
It’s wild how easy it is to totally forget about appreciating the little things sometimes. It is so easy to take the small things for granted. Especially when we don’t necessarily have something that we deal with that helps remind us of the small things. Often, it takes being mindful, and being intentional to remember to appreciate the small things. I have really been more aware, though I have moments where I forget to, but I have been more aware of various small things due to my feet. Some examples for me are, being more present and aware of dirt under my feet, or grass, and various things. All because I may face not having those experiences still in the future. It isn’t a guarantee, but it certainly wakes you up if you’re faced with something similar. The small things may be small, but they can bring so much joy and magic to you when you stop to appreciate them and take in their magic. I was researching a quote to share today for an Instagram post to talk about this and I came across the following quote and felt it was perfect! The quote read, “Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it.” – Confucius
To some this will potentially ruffle feathers, and others may think to themselves that it is so true.
At the end of the day, we all have the power to choose what we see, and how we see it! Sometimes that isn’t the case. But the way I see it, the more we appreciate the small things, and walk through life with our childlike curiosity ignited, even the smallest things can bring us the biggest smiles! Use this as a reminder to appreciate all the small things when you can and to teach the others in your life to do the same when you are given the opportunity to! It’s up to us to be a light in the darkness. In times when it feels like the lights won’t be able to turn back on, we can turn them on for ourselves and others, and the best place to start is in the small things! I love you all so much! I have missed writing, and I hope this is the start of more writing to come! It feels good to be getting back into it! I love you all and I will see you again soon, hopefully, in another post!
Best wishes,
The Inspiring Hummingbird!
“Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.” – Albus Dumbledore
